Hey, so a friend of me got me into valorant 2 months ago and I got pretty hooked. I fought myself through the ranks(mostly solo) and I’m diamond 2 atm. My solo games are most of the time really fun, with at least 2 people using a microphone and actually communicating and also being helpful if I’m asking questions. However when duoqueueing with my friend who’s around p3/d1 the quality of games goes down to a ridiculous level.
Our teammates usually either don’t use a mic at all or barely, often times only being toxic(this happens in my solo games as well but not as frequently). Also good games are quite rare, it’s almost always one sided(mostly against us) making me question if I even deserve this rank at all. Like we’re playing against plat 1 people casually dropping 300-400 acs.
He also has the same (good) experience when soloqueueing.
Now I’m wondering if this is a common thing at all? I feel like I’m holding myself really well in solos, bit it’s like an impossible challenge to have a good duo game.
Is this duo cursed? Is it because we have like 2 ranks difference?
Really curious on you people’s experiences with that.
