Me and my friend were queuing today and he was having the day of his life. He went 35-0-1 with a combat score of 583 and an econ rating of 359.

Opinion: Riot needs to add a "kill through smoke" indicator in the kill feed
If I'm not mistaken, csgo does have a specific icon if someone is being killed through smoke
