So I, an omen main, am generally new to playing this game with some actual strategy instead of oonga boonga gun go pew. I was playing with my brother (we’re both iron 1) and he was getting annoyed that I was picking omen, saying that smokes make the game harder because it’s easier to get picks on entry than it is to hold site at they retakes. So my question is, are smokes really important or is he right and would it be more beneficial to get kills on entry? (He is a sage main btw)

Edit: so I’ve told him about this very thing and his retort was. “We play at low elo so it’s easier to kill the people earlier.” I dropped the conversation. Also I’m not completely clueless when it comes to smoke placement/strategies despite my horrible rank, I’m just shit at gunfights.

But to be completely clear, I never take his advice we were just talking and I wondered if I was overestimating how important the role was.
