I keep getting my ass handed to me no matter what. I keep either getting one shot of the enemy just won’t die. How do I stop being garbage at this game?

I was playing unrated yesterday and someone told me I didnt have to smoke the bomb off with vipers smoke to do molly lineups. is this true? i was under the impression it did more damage this way.
