So, golden star bonuses. You get those when you perform better than the system thought you'd perform. Right?
Anyway. I lost a game by 13-7. I wasn't match or team MVP. Everyone in the whole lobby was either plat or diamond. Except me. I had never reached plat. But I was in that lobby, so that's what matters, right? The MMR.
I was like 3rd place in my team, 7th place in the match. Mediocre result. But better than expected, since I lost only 13 points and I got a golden bonus.
Basically, the system did not think I could do better than being stomped while bottom fragging. That was the line. Bottom frag, stomp. Anything better than that is unexpected from the get go.
So what exactly was I doing in that game? It's important to say this was a solo q, so it was really my MMR only. The fact that this was a huge defeat with a mediocre performance and still was better than what was expected just seems to me that the system threw me in that game to lose.
The game was like "ow so cute the gold didn't bottom frag, here's a golden star, stick it in your fridge".
Or am I missing something here?
