You'll lose the round. But should it stay this way? Let's say you're Gekko and you manage to send Wingman to plant the spike, then you and the last enemy kill each other. A molly, a grenade, whatever. Your team will lose the round because your team died, even if Wingman still plants the spike.
What do you think? Either Wingman stops planting if your team dies, or the spike still gets planted but the enemy must defuse it. Are there any other similar cases in the game?
