I'm a handicapped gamer with cerebral palsy, But I can still play Valorant because I created a custom setup. (Picture in the description)

Hello Reddit, I have mild cerebral palsy in my left arm and leg. This means that the fine motor skills in my left hand limit me from being able to play normally with a mouse and keyboard. It is difficult for me to use the WASD keys for maneuvering my character.

At first I tried to play with an Xbox controller but I quickly found that it is useless against other players using mouse and keyboard.

I needed to think of a way where I could still play with the precision of a mouse but have the ability to use my left hand to move my character around.

Many years ago I seen an ad for the Razer Naga, a mouse that has 12 buttons on the side. I thought to myself I could use that to bind character abilities too, which means I'd be able to use a mouse to play.

however I still need to figure out how I can effectively use the WASD keys with my left hand. I learned of a program that allows you to bind any input device such as a controller or a flight stick to any key you want on the keyboard, this is how I played certain games with a Xbox controller when they didn't have native support for Xbox controllers.

So I decided to buy a flight stick and bind it to the WASD keys so when I move my flight stick left it pushes the "A" key to go left if I move it to the right it pushes the "D" key to go right etc.

Thus I was finally able to play Valorant with nearly the same level of fairness as any other player.

So far this setup has only one drawback, And that is that when using the flight stick to maneuver I cannot maneuver keys as fast as normal. So I can't do things like jiggle peeking for example.

(Little off topic) my dream job is to open up a computer repair shop where I not only repair computers but I also build custom gaming rigs for people with disabilities. I mean just think of all the people out there that can't do anything like walk or talk or move, all those people wheelchair bound, or bedridden ect. wouldn't it be such a great gift to give them the power of the internet and it's glory. I think about the uses of VR and custom setups that I can make, I think about how I can put somebody in a VR headset and set up a rig that would allow them to be fully immersed in a world and do the things that they could never do in real life.

There are so many options out there, so many different devices, And furthermore I even have ideas for so much more. And so many people don't know that these devices even exist.

Ah yes that is my dream, perhaps one day when I get myself together I can achieve that.
