Hi guys!
I'm just your every day player on the ranked grind to get to immortal 3. I was immortal 2 a few games ago, but dropped to Immortal 1. However lately I've been having some really weird games which make ranking up hard!
I was under the assumption that ranked games were based purely on win or loss in Immortal. But I have some evidence to the contrary:
Here is a game I just played today 12/4. Nearly everyone here is in Immortal or +. The game was very close, 12-14. I tried my best to win the game and went 33/16/3. In terms of individual play, I thought this would be pretty good.
So just to recap. 12-14 overtime loss. Match MVP with a 30 bomb. I went down three arrows.
I was duo'd with the Skye, Custurd (Im2).
Same game, yet only 2 down arrows
So as we can see - my buddy Custurd also helped carry the game but received less of a loss than me. I thought Immortal games were win/loss only? We also have similar amount of games play, I have 40 wins this act while Custurd has 41.
So what happened here? Does the Immortal 3 Raze instalock in my game who had 10 avg combat score against an immortal 1 sage and a diamond 3 omen get the same amount of loss as me? Or less?
But there's more evidence:
I started realizing this was a problem throughout this entire act. Here is another game I played with my friends:
Here I 5 stacked with some friends. One Im1, an Im3 (who was previously radiant act rank), im1, and Im3.
I received 2 down arrows this game, while my friends all received 1 down arrow respectively. I saw their elo ratings myself, but I didn't take a screenshot at the time. If immortal ranked is supposed to be purely win or loss, why am I receiving less per win and more per loss?
Just to be clear. I'm not blaming my teammates. I'm not belittling how well the enemy team is doing. But Immortal games this patch are supposed to be based on win or loss, not individual play. How come I get less as if it was based on individual play, when the results are the contrary?
Obviously, some of these screenshots are cherry picked. However, I have no idea how much I'm being impacted in my solo games. I can only base it off of my friends when I play with them.
I was platinum rank act 1. It was extremely hard for me to rank up. When I was coming into Immortal, I was in games like these:
I don't have the full screenshot, but this game was a 13-7 win. I was duo'd with Cheezers and froggers who both went up 2 arrows, while I only went up one arrow. How is this fair?
Is there some kind of other work at play when the game is calculating ranked? At this point I only feel safe to play ranked if I 5 queue pubstomp so my friends will earn +3 and I'll only earn +2, which isn't how I want to play the game!
