This is coming from someone who played CSGO for almost 1k hours and has played league for over 4 years now, how quickly people get tilted in this game is ASTOUNDING to me. First round of the game, there's 3 of us on attack on site with 1 enemy left, I simply say "don't even bother peaking, just plant and force the push" and instantly this one person, sounded like a middle teenager like 16-17, just insta started flaming me and telling me to "unalive" myself (not the actual words he used, he suggested that alongside a rope if you get what I'm saying) from just that. And then, without me thinking it could get worse, his duo joins in and just keeps it going. This was at most 35-40 seconds into the round. I was just completely unaware that this game had that kinda toxicity, and it killed the entire vibe throughout the rest of the game as none of my other teammates or me said any words for the rest of the game. And remember, that was round 1 first half.
Does the report verbal actually do anything or did I just throw a report into a trash bin? League I know has been cracking down on that kinda stuff and it's not really the fact that he said it that tilted me, I mute in league all the time and I grew up on Xbox 360 MW2 lobbies so it's not like it offended me. But I can understand flaming over something in the game that happened, like someone isn't pulling their weight or misusing their abilities, etc. I can atleast understand the reasonable frustration that comes with that and letting that frustration come out towards your teammates, that's fine to me. But when you take it to the next level to telling your teammates to, you know what, for giving a helpful suggestion to have a higher chance at winning the round, that's where I draw the line because there's nothing actually productive or reasonable behind saying that.
Is this the norm? Also I should add, this is unrated I was playing not even ranked. He told me to do that "thing" because I was giving suggestions in unrated, unironically that was his reason. CSGO had toxicity but it was never like this so fast, unless the person was severely mentally damaged and was suffering from tons of issues irl and would just insta take them out on everyone because of it, but that rarely ever happened. Is it rare in this game too or is this kinda stuff normal?
