Just returning to Valorant after a few months off - Chamber got neutered so terribly (probably well known) but what was the point?

I know this has been discussed a lot probably but trying to use Chamber again in competitive offers no advantage over any other agent, meta or not.

From original Chamber with two trip wires, teleport anchors, $100 per deagle shot and a rapid fire awp, to what seemed to work with 1 trip, shorter anchors and $150 per shot to the current version...

He has 1 trip that he has to be near so he can't really rotate too far to support without recalling the trip so he can't info gather as effectively.

His shots are fine at the cost, and the ADS still works.

The teleport mechanic makes no sense at all now. Can't position or escape anywhere really. Can't be an aggressor, can't really defend on his own either as at best he'll be traded out when pushed against and he can't really teleport anywhere on the current maps except for like what 6 ft away?

His ult shots being so slow now that a regular operator is faster? What the heck? And he can still be neutralized by a KAY/O.

During regular gun rounds, he effectively someone without any abilities to enhance his attack or support his teammates. All other agents can info gather, support, obscure or defend better than him and his kit.

Why was he neutered even further?

My questions:

  • Can another character play a style that Chamber used to be able to do?

  • How is Chamber supposed to be used most effectively now?
