Hello! I’m a frequent lurker in this subreddit, and I’m not that great at writing reddit posts lol. I’m currently a player in North America, and my family is planning on moving to Asia (Taiwan) by the end of the year for the sake of my grandmother’s health. I’m feeling pretty nervous considering the difference in many elements (especially language) between NA and Asia. Here are some things I’ve been pretty concerned about for my transition.
Starters
I’m a Jett main and a gold player. For an idea of my skill-level, I’ve queued unrated with some immortals and I frag decently against the diamonds in those lobbies. I’ve anticipated growing a platform through playing this game such as on Twitch or playing pro (not exactly, I’ve wanted and planned on participating in Galorant leagues). This game has consumed a considerable amount of my time, and I’ve always wanted to make something good out of that.
Growing a community
I’ve taken a recent break on streaming due to the rigorous planning for the move. I’m enthusiastic and eager to grow a community since I have a pretty entertaining friend group of mine. I still have more time to start streaming again in North America, but I’m inexperienced in foreign gaming. Would I consider starting now and bring the community to Taiwan or start fresh once I’m there? I also do not know if they have Twitch there actually.
Language
Though I could only speak Mandarin at the level of a preschooler, it’ll be pretty difficult to converse in game, especially for strat-calling. Thankfully, my family told me that many young Taiwanese people now are experienced in basic English. What are some phrases that could be easy to tell them in comms?
Player behavior/skill
I’m eager to stomp Taiwanese players of course, but I’m very unsure what skill levels are [good?] in Taiwan as compared to North America. The behavior wouldn’t potentially bother me more, since misogyny in gaming is the norm. Hopefully, their lobbies are more well-behaved and fun to play with.
Connection
I've done some light research about playing Valorant in Taiwan. I heard it's usually bad ping (having to connect to HK servers) and I'd have to get a VPN for a better connection. Is this true? (Also, would I have to start a new account w/o the skins once I'm there?)
TL;DR
I’ve just joined a Galorant team as IGL, and I have not broken the news (about moving) to them yet. I’m very nervous due to the change of communication, connection, managing social media, and overall "restart" on Valorant. I'm hoping somebody could supply any type of advice or reassurance (in terms of moving) for me to take. Hopefully I didn't miss anything else and I thank you!
P.S. If anybody from Asia wants to play once I'm there I'm down! :)

A friend of mine found a potential Sova exploit. Hitting a dead body with a sonar arrow lets you see the enemy at the start of the next round
