Lower Ranks Should Weigh Individual Performance More

The amount it tilts me losing a game as match/team MVP (in some cases playing a support character like sage), as the lowest rank in the lobby, and still losing 2-3 arrows when pretty much everything is out of your hand, is incredible. I know what I just said is the worst-case scenario, but it still happens (and it just happened to me, which is why I am writing this post) and is very common in the low-mid ranks (bronze-plat); however there are still scenarios where you play out of your mind, but still, lose because your Reyna instalock had no mic and went 3-20. Considering in lower ranks, the skill disparity is still pretty high (I have seen plats who play like silvers, silvers who play like irons, and irons who play like golds, although the latter is fairly rare), individual performance should be weighted more, rather than hoping luck is on your side and you get good teammates for once. I know that this is already sort of in place, but I definitely think it should be strengthened in lower ranks. For example:

  • Iron: 65% individual performance, 25% win/loss difference, 10% other factors
  • Bronze: 60% individual performance, 30% win/loss difference, 10% other factors
  • Silver: 55% individual performance, 35% win/loss difference, 10% other factors
  • Gold: 50% individual performance, 37.5% win/loss difference, 12.5% other factors
  • Plat: 40% individual performance, 45% win/loss difference, 15% other factors
  • Diamond+: Do not have enough knowledge about these ranks, so I cannot say anything about it.

I believe this would be a good starting point. The numbers can change because I am certain that the Valorant Devs are far more knowledgeable in this than I am, but I just wanted to get the point across. I know a system similar to this may already be in place, and in this case, it does need some tweaking to help out the lower ranks (as I do feel like the competitive changes have been more high/pro-level focused). I understand that the ranking system is not supposed to be a progression system, but it is incredibly tilting to play with players far below your skill level, with nothing that can be done about it, other than losing 40 minutes of your time and hoping the next game will be better. I also believe that this will help with the smurfing issue at the lower ranks. Please give feedback about what else you would like changed about the ranking system, especially at lower ranks.
