For context, I'm Bronze and quite bad. I get incredibly frustrated when in unrated, spike rush, and deathmatch games I have to deal with at least 3 Plat+ players insta-tapping my head every single time I try to move, let alone take a gunfight with them. The worst offender here is whenever I go up against an Immortal+ player and have to spend 99% of the game watching Gordan Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. It's gotten to the point where I've almost completed the series too!
Then in ranked; there is ALWAYS a smurf on both teams, which skews the balance and makes it impossible to learn and play the game properly as matches essentially devolve into a 1v1 with 8 players watching it.
Why is this a thing? Because if this isn't fixed it's going to kill off most of the casual and lower-ranking playerbase. Not everyone has the time to grind out 9+ hours in AimLab and play 14 games a day, so why are these players being matched against the players that do and are much higher ranks?
Personally, it's killing my enjoyment with the game as it essentially turns the game into a spectator sport as I'm dead 95%+ of the time thanks to someone who is at least Gold+ dumpstering me.
Where is the safe space for lower-ranking players? I would really like to know.
