Muscle Memory is amazing!

First of all hello! I am Kasaix and I am not by any means a good player of the game I think I peaked plat 2 when I used to play valo. Heck I am not even an fps player I much prefer card games like hearthstone, legends of runeterra and yugioh (hit legend in hs, master in lor and lastly diamond in yugioh ps. this is totally me flexing).

For context I am a 26 years old working young adult trying to guide through my way in life. Anyway since me and my friends all got jobs we couldn't gather and play multiplayer games anymore (one of the reasons why I prefer card games over fps as I can just log in quickly and have a couple of games without much commitment). Yesterday after about a year and a half all of my friends found time and we gathered to play a game of valo.

Since I had been lending my account to my brother all my settings were messed up so I had to spend some time calibrating my sensitivity and whatnot. So after a quick 5 mins in the range we quickly started the game and I was amazed by my muscle memory. No, I am not talking about my aim or something like that, my aim still sucks.

You see before the game I tried to do my key binds. I have a mouse with extra buttons so I would use those in the game but the problem was I didn't remember I assigned which button to what so I just foregone it and decided to leave it as is. The thing was even though I didn't remember which button I wanted to use for what, my body still did! And this created hilarious situations in the game.

Like, I wanted to ping the place of an enemy during combat and I would instinctively press extra button 2 or after taking a shot with my awp I would press Q and it would switch to ability instead of my pistol or I would want to use an ability and press extra button 1 and nothing would happen.

I swear to god the first game was the most fun I had in a long while, trying to figure out what buttons my muscle memory remembered for certain commands and bind them was almost a mini-game in itself. It was certainly awkward but definitely fun! And even today I am still amazed how my body has muscle memory from a game that I haven't played in almost 2 years!

Anyway yeah, I just wanted to share this interesting experience I had. I hope people who read this post have a good day and win their games.
