I recently played with a friend who usually instalocks agents. In this one Icebox game, he did the same instalock, but it lead to the whole team locking duelists, including me who picked last (this is not the problem, everyone accepted it). The actual problem is:
-
The conflict: A small part of the game with the thrower
-
Context: We started by losing the first round. In the second round, our Neon was already showing a loser's mentality and his justification was something like: "our Reyna is an instalocker, he's not carrying, gg, go next." By then, he only kept throwing, trolling and justifying his actions with the fact that our Reyna instalocked. That conflict heavily influenced the whole team and lost us the game by many rounds. Our Yoru also started to throw after round 4 and only Jett, Reyna and I were trying. It could've been way better if Neon didn't throw after round 2 because of instalock Reyna.
-
Summary: Don't instalock and don't throw because someone else instalocked. Instalockers can be quite annoying, but players who throw because of them are much worse imo. That's why you should learn to adapt to instalockers, not the opposite.
Edit: To clarify, the 5 duelists comp was not a problem for anyone in the team. That wasn't the reason Neon and Yoru threw. They were part of making the comp like that. The real problem is "throwing because I have an instalocker"
