I don’t play comp often.
I played 2 comp games today, first one I went in as Silver 2, duo queueing with a Silver 1 and averaging a silver-gold1 lobby. I ended up getting match MVP and that bumped me up to Silver 3. That was my 3rd comp game of the act. This account peaked silver 3.
Second game I solo queued and ended up in a mid gold-low plat elo and I bottom fragged! Even though I regularly play unrated with my friends that are plat-ascendant I wasn’t prepared for the drastic skill difference after coming out of a silver game and it upset me how the game automatically assumed I was capable of handling the higher rank. The mindset is completely different.
I could’ve definitely handled it better and not let it get to my head but it’s just mind boggling how matchmaking works in this game. Do you guys experience this too?
