It's very common in low ranks, rare in high ranks (but still happens) that I see people who are just way too passive. Shift here shift there. It's not needed. Just run.
Yes Timmy, your opponent can't hear you running from across the entire map.
Yes Timmy, shift peeking every single angle gives you a disadvantage
Yes Timmy, being overly passive for no reason (rotates, flanking, catching someone offguard, etc) is just not needed.
Learning when and when not to use shift just isn't talked about as much as for example crouching, and I understand that. But it should be because it is a much bigger disadvantage

This is a great way to warm up/practice in the range. Do easy mode bots and shoot the flying targets to practice your 180 degree flicks.
