I recently introduced this game to my girlfriend. She has never played an FPS game in her life and this game is intuitive enough, so I recommended it to her, as I wanted her to get into a game and she seemed relatively interested, now I would understand if she quit because of this. The toxicity is beyond astonishing and I think it's time for Riot to add a system similar to the Trust Factor one from CS, because chat banning is simply not enough. This is how a conversation went down in her game, for reference.
Random teammate: Can I get a heal please?
2 players, duo'd together: Didn't ask
Gf: Can you be nice about it and just heal him please?
2 players: Can you go back to the kitchen?
I'm sure this has happened to so many other people, but it is so humiliating, and frankly embarrassing, to see a community that I had respect for have no respect for other players who are simply trying to learn how to play this game.
Other things that were said, when my girlfriend told them to be nice include, but not limited to:
"You know I can get a refrigerator that doesn't talk back?"
"Hey what's your fridge model number so I know what to avoid?"
"Can you go and make me a sandwich?"
"POV: you are an object"
EDIT: It is worth mentioning that this was an unrated game and she was not flaming them or aggravating them at all in any way. They just kept trying to grief and sabotage the entire game, and I did advise her to just mute them halfway through, so God knows what else they were saying while they were muted. I hope no one comments saying that people are too sensitive nowadays, as this isn't just a matter of toxicity, this goes beyond that.
