Looking at how the new skins use a "Kill Tracker" and it's clearly not what most expected it to be. I also don't think that thematically, Stat Trackers don't fit in every concept based on how broad the creative team's scope is for their skin ideas

(at this point an elderflame style skin but instead of a Dragon Vandal it's a Cat/Corgi Phantom shooting lasers and you have to pet the cute thing to reload is not in the realm of impossibility)

So to have more freedom in creative liberties in skins without thinking about how to incorporate a counter, make it a gun buddy. It'll probably sell more if priced correctly anyway. You can even have Gun Buddy skins for it as well, like a stopwatchs style to a neon style or something. It would be pretty cool.
