In theory, adding this new rank should be completely beneficial to high ranks, specifically making imm+ more of a prestigious place to be where only true grinders and decent players get to.
What I have noticed from everyone I’ve duo’d with in the past and still have added, as well as myself, that we have all been boosted (multiple) ranks. As you would all also know this, I fail to understand how this is meant to create a more competitive environment.
Myself, I have been hard stuck d3 all of last season. I have played 3 days of these season, and have skipped ranks through all of ascendant and am now sitting in imm 2 about 100 points or something. I have mates who have been silver/gold for 2-3 seasons, now literally in dia 1.
First, I have no real problem with boosting players a little to sort of even out lower ranks (although I have no fuckin idea why having most in a certain rank is a problem whatsoever), but to the point where even “high elo” consider it high or not it’s whatever, has a lot of players who were never able to reach that rank like 4 days ago, how is this creating a “competitive” experience?
I’m in the same rank as pro players in my region, yet 4 days ago I could have off games and get slapped by a plat 2? I dunno seems not good tbh
