I recently made a customer support post.
In the post i mentioned the fact the electricity went out once on a competitive match and i could not continue. I got a 7-day competitive ban for it, i accepted it.
Exactly 2 days ago me and my friends were going to queue for ranked but it started raining , in India lights going out while raining is common so i just put on unrated so i would not get a ban. Later in the match, electricity went out. I had queued for unrated so as not to get a competitive ban but i still got a 7-day competitive ban. Out of the last 4 weeks i only have been able to play competitive for 1/2 the time due to no fault of my own.
I think there should be a way for valorant to detect difference between intentional and unintentional disconnection.
Electricity going out unexpectedly is much more common in India than developed regions so this has probably happened to lots of people that haven't documented it.
