We've been more than a month deep into the infamous desync patch, with some prior expertise provided by fellow forum users who figured network buffering was a thing that could alleviate such problems, it can severely affect and correct issues that were present before
First step is the suggestion of disabling tracers in all to prevent inaccurate information from affecting your sprays.
Second is toggling between high priority, MSI mode, and Linebased mode for the network adapter you have to figure out which is the most reliable in hitreg
Third is to use TCP optimiser or some kind of VPN to clean up the in and out packets to the server, to prevent instances of extreme positive or negative peeker's advantage - and improve hitreg in general
Fourth is to try all 3 settings of the Network buffering setting for all the above variables, I find that on linebased and MSI modes for my USB wifi stick it changes from min to max buffering for optimal results depending on how its set in MSI modes.
If you tried any of these changes out you can see instantly a massive change, positive or negative depending on the combinations of the above variables.
From the default pretty fast time to see and fire and kill, I now get a slightly longer one of those times, but the shot registration is palpably more reliable and has finally gotten me the ability to rank out of Gold 2 -- coming from LE in CSG.
Otherwise by default even over both wifi and different ethernets I've experienced times where the server will drop more than half of my shots from a vandal or stinger due to poor registration and dropped routing along the way.

Turns out you actually lose a little bit of elo from a tie, even if it displays equal. I tied and still lost 3RP
