okay so - bear with me - my boyfriend(plat3) and my brother(gold2) got in a very heated argument over the best ult in the game

we ended up making categories/questions that we were focusing on to determine which ult was the best. my boyfriend argued sova’s ult was the best, my brother argued killjoy’s was best. i’m still torn, but i for sure think that viper’s ult is in the race.

keep in mind- we’re trying to decide what the best ult is OVERALL. so these questions cover a pretty wide range—it’s a hard decision

here’s the questions we were asking: (most relevant/important questions are starred*)

⁃	*how many points does the ult cost?
⁃	*what does the ult GUARNTEE? (position, site, damage, etc.)
⁃	*what is the range of the ult? (can it cover an entire site? does it go across the map? through walls?)
⁃	*what does the ult accomplish? is it more than one thing?
⁃	*does the ult do damage?
⁃	*is the ult destructible/easily countered? 
⁃	*is the ult strong on all/most maps?

⁃	can it clear corners/create space? 
⁃	does it hold that space? how long does it hold it?
⁃	does the ult change the enemy’s position? does it reveal their position? (is their revealed position important in all elos? all situations? all maps?)
⁃	is it possible for the enemy to then retake that space/corner after the ult is used? how quickly can they retake it?
⁃	is the ult strong in all elos/ranks?
⁃	how situational is the ult? (good for post plant, taking site, clearing corners, taking space, getting kills, etc.)
⁃	how easy is it to cancel/recover from the ult? does it take too long to pull out your gun after canceling/ulting? how vulnerable are you after canceling/ulting?

in my brain, it’s best to avoid specific situations such as post-plant, or 1v1s, or defense since we’re trying to decide the best ult in the game PERIOD. imo it’s also best to avoid thinking of the best ult based off of playing off of util, such as a shock dart AFTER using a sova ult.

it all just boils down to best ult in the game, regardless of clutch situation, 5v5, defense, post-plant, etc.

there’s no doubt that the sova, viper, and killjoy ults are some of the best in the game considering what they can/do accomplish, but i’m still torn and i’d love to hear some other opinions. lmk what y’all think!
