As titled. I see many clips of people getting a bunch of kills because no one checked their corner, but I personally find that when the first person passes by I should just shoot so that I at least get 1 kill and don't run the risk of the 2nd person checking. I'm also not very confident that I can win the aim duel if the second guy checks my corner.
So realistically, is holding fire better or just getting at least 1k in a round?
Situations that I can currently think of where trigger discipline would be good would be if you 100% know they aren't going to check there (like maybe because of a late rotate or a super unexpected position) or if they severely outnumber your team (like a 2v5) so you need to get way more than 1 frag to win the round, but other than that I feel like holding fire just isn't rewarding enough for the risk, so I would like to know others' thoughts.
Edit: apologize if this has been asked before! I'm not too good at finding stuff online, and the top stuff that I got when I searched about trigger discipline in the sub were usually clips.

A kind redditor agreed to teach me how to play Valorant. This clip shows how an experienced player can take a new player to another level and have fun at the same time. (My mic audio is quiet sorry about that)
