I primarily play fade/sage- I recently had a game where I went 13/14/17 or so, and only got 10rr. I was using my util properly and getting assists with it, so what’s the deal? I feel like it’s so much harder to climb if you’re not instalocking duelist and fragging, but I prefer being more utility and recon.

Valorant should never match a 5 stack against 5 soloq players; yet it does.
**TL;DR**: Matchmaking has a couple of quirks that amplify the harmful impact of smurfing, even at high ranks like diamond. This situation creates a knock-on effect that makes matchmaking worse in all ranks.
