Why is shotgun and lmg frowned upon?

Title.

Shotgun is effective at punishing over aggressive chokes or corner campers, which the trade off is range. It has its own niche and actively punishes you if you over aggro/challenge long sightlines. While aiming it takes relatively less "skill" but the timing (or sometimes trigger discipline) for pushing and punishing is a skill that you need to work on and hard to master or else you're gonna get teamshot to death.

Lmg on the other hand has a harder recoil pattern and long reload for more bullets in mag and also high pierce. Effective at both attack and defense to lock down chokes. Like ARs, it requires aim and arguably harder to master recoil. You'll also get punished for letting people see you with your pants down (reloading).

My argument is that both guns have niches compared to ARs and smgs which are general guns that are good in any situations but does not diminish the skill and efforts required in mastering said niche.

But what do you think? Is it "no skill" or "viable" weapon?
