Why is smurfing more accepted by the community in valorant?

I see loads of TikTok’s and tweets about people playing on their Smurf accounts and they’re proud of it. It seems that every high elo player is regularly smurfing and as such, the only people complaining about smurfs are those in low elos who are the ones being effected by the smurfs.

Contrast this to overwatch and it seems like smurfing is comparatively more low key. Still everywhere, but people are more low key about it and most people agree that smurfs are ruining the matches.

Smurfs often defend their actions by saying low elo players should be grateful for the opportunity to learn and experience high level gameplay but they fail to acknowledge that their actions are detrimental to the match. The other players aren’t learning anything when you jiggle peak and instantly 1 shot them. It’s happening too fast and without a replay viewer they cannot see if they are actually making a mistake or not. That attitude also doesn’t justify the actions as the mechanical skill gap is too large. And don’t provide them with any insight on the game other than “aim better” or “have faster reaction time”

So I guess to round it all up, do you Smurf? Why or why not? What’s your stance on how smurfs effect the health of the player base at low elos? Do you think more people would play the game if smurfs weren’t so common in low elos?
