First Shot Accuracy Doesn't Exist (and why you should ADS more)

While looking to explore the differences between the Phantom and the Vandal I stumbled across some facts that I think need to be common knowledge to the Valorant community.

  1. First Shot Accuracy Does Not Exist

Every gun in the game has an associated 1st shot spread which also differs when aiming down sights or not. This lack of precision on the first shot means that you could do everything correct when holding an angle and still miss a headshot because of luck alone.

  1. Sometimes you should ADS

This 1st shot spread value is smaller when you aim down sights. While it does not appear to be that much smaller examining the probability of hitting your shot with the Vandal at 50 m both ADS and ADLess we find a miss probability of about 8% and about 50% respectively. This means that at distances of 50 m (or greater) such as most of the sightlines on Breeze it is much better to ADS.
