If you play a game and get stomped by a smurf or just by a superior team and you totally got dominated and still leave the game, feeling good about yourself and were able to enjoy the game, this little thought isn't for you / you are one of the lucky ones.
To the rest of us who are only happy about a game and can only enjoy Valorant if we won the match:
Why are we even playing? Why do we even aim train? What are we doing this for?
We think that if we just play more and just train more, we will dominate and win round after round BUT the cruel truth is: Getting better is a slow process and you will not even notice it. You will not just dominate your silver lobby after a month of aimlab like a diamond and climb straight to diamond. You will sloooowly get better.
By the time you get better, you will have ranked up. Meaning that your enemies will get better and your overall experience will never change. How this game feels will never change, no matter how hard you train or how good you become. There will always be enough people on the enemy team that are better than you to crush you. Not every time but often enough. Like now.
Sure, you will have your victories and the rounds where you shine, but you already have those, right? Unless you become the next TenZ or something, there will be no goal, no spot where you just enjoy every round and every aspect of the game.
So whats my point? No matter how hard we try, our overall experience with this game will never change.
Nobody wants to admit this but this is also a big reason why people smurf. They just want to shine every round so they just terrorize the lower elos.
Now it’s your turn to tell me why I‘m wrong. But please be honest with yourself and check back if you enjoy losing or what exactly you enjoy about the game and what your real goal is. Maybe just a rank? If it is a rank, what is your plan after you reach it?
