I'm diamond 3, pushing ascendant, and I'm considering playing Sova more frequently on a couple of maps - Ascent, Haven, maybe Breeze, Pearl. Learning lineups take time but ultimately is not that difficult, and I'm finding that correctly timing the recon seems a lot more difficult to master.
How is this best used? Specifically considering whether to be using it at round start every round or saving it initially every round in anticipation for some push.
If I have arrow when the enemy is pushing, it's extremely strong even to get one tick, especially in scenario's that set you up to get get kills through smokes. The issue is that often you wait a LONG time for a push that may not come in as definitive a manner, and you end up losing on the opportunity. Alternatively, I see many people use arrow at the start of the round to be able to call for early rotates and have early positional awareness plus it also allows your recon CD to get started earlier. However the issue is your arrow isn't translating to a lot of additional help in gun fights, you're still often taking a 50/50 fight unless you have well timed help. It feel like it's rare to reliably use arrow for both a timed push and to get early info, so we must choose.
Is there a decently high ranking Sova (ascendant + ?) that can guesstimate the % of each choice (using very early vs conserving for some type of push) they are doing? Is there any guiding criteria for making this decision correctly (whether you are attack/defense, the particulars of executing a given site and map, etc...)?
