I go up against people who openly admit that they are boosting someone very often, and since I am not very good at the game, I struggle to deal with them. Why do so many people do this, and how can I deal with them?

I think Riot is into something really good with the changes to 5 stack queue.
Since the RR reduction is only for high elo, specially for the Radiant rank, you can think of this 5 stack queue almost as a different mode completly but inside the regular soloQ. I think they want to focus on people that want the full team...
